FEED 5,000: EVANGELISM IN AFRICA
- A) EHC South Sudan: They have recruited 23 volunteers for outreach to 6 target districts. Hopefully, the heart-changing power of the Gospel will extinguish the ethnic hatred and civil war between the people and return peace to the towns and cities. Pray for God to raise more workers to harvest His fields and for more Christ Groups to be set up to nurture new believers.
- B) EHC Cameroon: The team reached out to 2 districts with the Gospel. In a northern town, more than 90 people responded to the Gospel. On the other hand, volunteers who went to a district in the central region were beaten up because they were mistaken for bandits and almost killed. Fortunately, some locals vouched for them and clarified that they were not criminals. Please pray for the safe travel of the volunteers and salvation for the unsaved.
- C) EHC DRC East: The militant groups here have never stopped their armed violence against innocent civilians, killing many, destroying homes, and leaving many without a place to call home. “Peace” has become a foreign word to the people of this nation. Amidst the turbulent conditions, the EHC team here held on steadfastly to their evangelistic mission to spread the Gospel to every home and individual. Pray for the aggressors to be stopped and for stability to return to the nation so that the Gospel will spread across these lands and lead the people to God’s light.
CCIS UPDATES
Jesus sacrificed Himself as the lamb of God and returned from the dead, demonstrating His power as the Son of God. He gave the mission to reconcile mankind to God to His disciples, and CCIS follows His command to spread the Gospel with God’s wisdom. Salvation is an entirely free gift from God, but to spread its Good News, we need funds to operate the channels of outreach. This year’s fundraising activities are as follows:
- Movie Premier “Sight”: Date and venue is yet to be confirmed. This touching and encouraging film is based on the life story of Dr. Ming Wang, a Christian ophthalmologist who diligently serves the medical needs of vulnerable communities. Tickets are available at $20 each though larger donation is most welcome and we hope to fill all 500 seats.
- Fundraising Dinner: The dinner will be held on 09 September at Imperial Restaurant and will tentatively host 30 tables. Details will be sent to all churches closer to the event date.
The 2 events above will only be able to raise part of the funds we need, and we look forward to the support of the churches, Christian businesses, and brethren in Christ to help us meet our budget. Through our united strength, the Gospel can be spread far and wide to glorify the Lord’s holy name.
LEADING PEOPLE INTO GOD’S KINGDOM IN CREATIVE ACCESS REGIONS
Believers in a certain town in Country S faced harsh oppression from the authorities and were evicted from their homes. Seven families have since been forced to flee their villages. Pray for the Lord’s comfort and protection upon them and for the ministry of the EHC team to continue in spite of the obstacles.
Country N has many people who are seeking the God. Pray for the Lord to lead the volunteers to these pre-believers so the Gospel can spread across this nation. God has granted great blessings and protection upon the team for their efforts in this ministry. Thanks be to God!
Co-workers of Country M’s team need our prayers to overcome the trials and challenges they face as they strive to fulfill the Great Commission. Pray for the Lord to reinforce their faith and enable them to build good rapport with the community and locals in preparation for sharing of the Gospel with them.
“A BRUISED REED HE WILL NOT BREAK” AND “WHAT CAN I RELY UPON”
Rev. Ong Jiew Yeo from Australia wrote the first tract which explores the inevitable challenges and difficulties in life. While we have moments of weakness and failure, Jesus Christ loves us deeply and will not give up on us. No matter what, He loves us and reaches out to redeem and comfort us, for it was Him who died on the cross so we can find salvation and a meaningful life. The latter tract by Elder Samuel Ching discusses the worries of people today who live in unstable and uncertain circumstances. The author tells readers with God’s love that the Lord will watch over those who believe in Him, and they can depend on Him any time instead of searching blindly. These tracts will be combined, and will be printed for APAC. Please pray for their use in God’s work.
“A COMPLETE COMPILATION OF JESUS’S TEACHINGS” AND “THE WAY TO A HAPPY LIFE” – SECRETS OF HAPPINESS
The first book was written by Elder Samuel Ching and forms a 3-volume set with “The 50 Parables of Jesus” and “The 44 Miracles of Jesus”. The book features all of Jesus’ words and actions and explains them for readers’ ease of understanding, allowing them to systematically learn His teachings and understand the rich meaning behind them. The latter booklet was written by the late Dr. Johnny Lee and contains 4 lessons. It describes the fundamental doctrines of the Bible in simple but systematic terms and covers topics like the Bible, Human-God Relationship, Faith, Hope, and Love. All orders are welcome for personal use or as gifts for others.
“BECOMING OUTSTANDING IN LIFE” AND “MY PRECIOUS BOOK” – INTRODUCING YOU TO THE MAGNIFICENT CHRIST
Written by Dr. Peter Liu, the first book has 4 parts which discuss how people climb the ladder of success, the loneliness at the top, home as the nest of love, and ghosts and ancestral worship. The author is an ordinary man who introduces readers to the extraordinary Jesus Christ through his book, for only the infinite God can satisfy our deepest desires. The latter booklet contains over a hundred pictorial stories from the Bible presented with colourful illustrations and simple language for young readers, because God hopes for every child to know and follow His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.
“GOSPEL EXPRESS” AND “A WATCHMAN’S GUIDE TO PRAYING GOD’S PROMISES” – PRECIOUS IMPLEMENTS OF EVANGELISM
Gospel Express is a Chinese-English bilingual evangelistic booklet with lively illustrations. It uses simple language to explain the Gospel scripture and is a popular choice of local and overseas brethren for use in evangelism for many years, with impressive results. The latter book is the work of Rev. Dr. Dick Eastman and shares about the greatest prayer movement in history. It is a guide to issues that the Bible is concerned about and provides guidance for intercessors participating in the “Wall of Prayer” during their chosen prayer slot.
