FEED 5,000 – EVANGELISM IN AFRICA
- A) EHC Cameroon: The north of this country is home to three unreached tribes who are followers of mysticism – the Mafa, Fulani, and Kapsiki. The team’s co-workers reached out to them and their efforts paid off well, with 284 members of the tribes responding to the Gospel. Pray for more churches in that region to join hands with the EHC team to follow through and nurture these new believers so they can be soldiers of Christ bringing the Gospel to their peoples.
- B) EHC Zambia: On the banks of the Luangwa river running along Zambia’s borders with Mozambique, merchants from both nations often crossed over to mingle and trade with one another. Many of them had good soil in their hearts ready for the Gospel, but sadly, there was no church in that vicinity and evangelistic outreach was almost non-existent. The EHC team hopes to reach out to this area and cultivate new gospel fields so they can lead the local unsaved towards the light of life in Christ (John 8:12).
- C) EHC Burkina Faso: Pray for the stability of this nation in turmoil. By the power and protection of the Lord, the EHC co-workers were able to bring the Good News to the lost and hopeless refugees. Pray for the Lord to raise more churches and brethren to work with the EHC team to lead the displaced people to Christ and follow up with their spiritual nurturing and care.
CCIS PREPARATIONS AND FUNDRAISING
Organising large scale gospel events calls for much faith and courage and involves a lot of suffering and perseverance (2 Timothy 1:7-8). It is with such understanding that the committee brings each year’s CCIS celebrations to fruition, preparing and raising funds for the event to be held at year’s end from the beginning of the year. One of the greatest challenges for CCIS lies in fundraising. Christmas is less than 3 months away, but we are still short of $350K for the budget. Appeal letters have been sent out and we look forward to the support of churches and brethren by God’s grace to send us the sorely needed help. The 2 fundraising dinners on the 3rd and 10th of this month hopes to draw enthusiastic support from churches and brethren for our ministry. The Great Commission was given to all believers from Christ, and we pray for every person who belongs to God to participate with joy and willingness. While it is still daylight, let us do His work and deliver the Good News of Jesus’ birth to the world from Orchard Road. Please pray for the needs of the ministry.
TESTIFYING FOR THE LORD IN CREATIVE ACCESS REGIONS
The EHC team in Country R organised a summer camp for the young ones and shared the Gospel with them (Matthew 19:14). Pray for the children who heard about Jesus to experience God’s love and grace, so they will learn to cast off the bondage of sin in their growing-up journey and discover abundant life in Jesus Christ, and one day respond to His call to become disciples for His heavenly work. Please pray for the effectiveness of their children’s ministry.
During their recent outreach, Country D’s EHC team encountered many locals of pagan background who were hearing the Gospel for the first time. Pray for the Lord to give them thirsting hearts to look closer into the truth of the Christian faith so they can understand what the Gospel was all about and come to find hope and salvation in Jesus Christ.
Spiritual awakening and revival are desperately needed in Country Z. Pray for the autocratic government to allow the people to have freedom to practice their religion, and for the people who are trapped in a web of deception and oppression to have the courage to open their hearts to God’s truth without fear, so they can discover eternal life in the Gospel.
PROCLAIMING THE LOVE OF GOD AND INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN UNITY THIS CHRISTMAS
Secular commercial advertising has repackaged Christmas into a themed holiday revolving around Santa Claus, Christmas trees, Christmas dinners, and wild parties. It has become twisted into a time for revelry and satisfying of carnal desires, and many have completely forgotten what Christmas was really about. They did not know how it began nor who was the protagonist of Christmas, much less being aware that they need a Saviour. Christians need to seize the universal festive mood to tell people that Christmas was all about a baby born in a manger, who was the Saviour from heaven, here on earth to save all humankind.
Even though the COVID pandemic had mostly stabilized and died down, the world continues to be caught up in chaos. People were attacking people, and nations were attacking nations. Floods, droughts, and earthquakes were plenty. This is a time devoid of peace and stability, and Christians have the duty to share the peace of Christ with the panicked and worrying world. We hope for more brethren to make use of SEHC tracts to share the Good News of Christmas with friends and family. Some churches have also started production of tracts early in preparation for Christmas. Pray for the Lord to bless and use these tracts in His work.
THE ROCK HOUSE DESKTOP, MONTHLY, AND BEAUTY OF GOD CALENDARS 2024 – PRE-ORDERS ARE OPEN
“JESUS AND SALVATION” AND “THE GOSPEL FOR MANKIND” – KEEN TOOLS FOR EVANGELISM
The first book, written by Rev. Peter Wongso, takes a hard look at Jesus and the salvation He brought to the world. The author explains how to know if Jesus is the true God, His second coming, and the redemption of life. He explained that after a believer is saved, they need to live according to the Bible’s guidance and rely on the Lord for strength through faith and reverence. The latter book by Bro. Wang has 4 sections describing how one can receive the love and peace of Jesus Christ by faithfully trusting in Him. There is nothing tedious or complicated about believing in Christ and all one needs to do is to have wholehearted faith in Him. Pray for the Lord’s use of these books for the benefit of the yet unsaved.
“THE WAY OF LIFE” AND “BECOMING OUTSTANDING IN LIFE” – APPLYING TRUTH IN LIFE
The first book by Dr. James Yu explores the meaning of life. The title refers to the incarnate Way, or Logos, Jesus Christ and the message in the book corresponds with the core theme throughout the books of the Bible. No sinner can be saved through good works or behaviour, but God grants us salvation at no cost to us through His divine grace and because of our faith in Him. Dr. Peter Liu assumes the role of an ordinary man in the second book who introduces the extraordinary Jesus Christ to readers. In its 4 chapters, the author tells readers that a person’s soul is his life and is worth more than all the treasures of this world combined. These books are ideal reads for new believers. Pray for the Lord to use them.
“LET’S TALK HEART” AND “EXPLORING THE ALTERNATE DIMENSION” – UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE BETTER
Dr. James Yu talks about the human “heart” – our thoughts, will, and emotions in the first book. The Bible has clear revelations about the heart and the best ways to manage it, which is through the work of the Holy Spirit Who transforms people into the image of God. The author also drew upon the experiences of well-known persons to explain his opinions. The latter book by Dr. Thomas Leong explores topics such as the mystery of the universe, and the divine vs the diabolical. He also discusses the perspective of science on the existence of God and the human soul. Using the findings of renowned researchers, the author demonstrates that our thoughts come from more than just our brain, and we have living, thinking souls. Pray for these books to benefit those who seek to have a more profound understanding of God’s truth.
“LOVE ON ITS KNEES” AND “NO EASY ROAD” – TREASURE TROVES OF PRAYERS
Both of these books were the works of Rev. Dick Eastman and prompts readers to take hold of God’s word so that it becomes a treasure trove of spiritual power claimable through their prayers. Readers will learn about how the author and his family dedicated themselves to God’s service and other heartwarming scenes of faith. The second book is the result of the author’s extensive information collection and research. It contains key insights on prayer that are essential to building an abundant life. However, the journey of a prayerful life is not an easy one. These 2 books are thus intended to help readers practice deeper prayer. We welcome all purchases for personal use or as gifts for others.
“SONG OF A WANDERER” AND “KNOW THE TRUTH” – BIBLICAL FAITH FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SCIENCE
Li Cheng wrote the first book based on biblical viewpoints with the understanding of science and reason to explore the fundamental faith of Christianity. Topics discussed include God’s existence, modern science and Christian faith, Creationism vs. Evolution, and eternal life. The author also uses revelations observable in nature to demonstrate the reality of God. Dr. Zhang Yulan authored the second book as a compilation of sermons he heard and his personal observations and experiences. The book looks at common questions such as whether God exists, is the Bible truly God-inspired, and is Jesus really the Son of God? Pray for these books to be used by God to lead many to Him.
