FEED 5,000 – EVANGELISM CAMPAIGN IN AFRICA

1. A) EHC Cameroon: The team carried out gospel outreach in a stronghold of pagan beliefs, where 127 pagans came to faith in Jesus. Thanks be to the Lord! We pray that the Lord will raise up more volunteers to disciple these new believers, strengthen their young faith, and enable them to stand firm and persevere amid opposition. In addition, the team has made progress in evangelistic outreach and humanitarian aid among the Pygmy people, a small-statured group that has resisted the Gospel for many years. May God shine His light upon them and lead them to turn to the one true God.
2. B) EHC South Sudan: In the eastern village of Loronya, deeply entrenched traditional beliefs, illiteracy, and a stubborn adherence to ancient and backward ways of life have isolated villagers from modern civilization. Regardless of whether they are urban dwellers or people living deep in the mountains and forests, all of mankind are precious souls in the Lord’s eyes. We pray that the Lord will guide the team with His wisdom as they seek to initiate outreach among this tribe.
3. C) EHC Madagascar: Before sowing, the soil must be prepared. As preparatory work for gospel outreach, the team provided solar panels to the villagers of Bongolava. It is our hope that the villagers will be moved by this act of kindness, see God’s great love, and open their hearts to receive the salvation of Christ. We pray that as the team engages in discussions with the village chief and community leaders, the Lord will grant them trust so that the outreach will be accepted and can proceed smoothly.

USE OF GOSPEL TRACTS BY CHURCHES AND BRETHREN IN 2025

The mission of evangelism is daunting. Without faith and courage from God, rejection or opposition would easily cause one to retreat and be unable to persevere. Thanks be to God that many churches and brethren have held fast to a steadfast faith and patience in reliance on the Lord, distributing gospel tracts in neighbourhoods and communities for decades without ceasing. Among last year’s tract evangelists, some handed out tracts randomly; some went to migrant worker dormitories, distributing tracts along with bread donated by neighbourhood shops; others placed chocolates during the Christmas season together with tracts into bags for distribution, receiving very positive responses. As these brothers and sisters use their various methods to distribute tracts, they also conveyed the Lord’s great love to warm many hearts. Please pray for these faithful ambassadors of the Lord and ask Him to bless the work of their hands. We hope that in the new year, the number of diligent tract evangelists will increase so more people may hear the Gospel and enjoy the blessing of eternal life.

SEHC IS HIRING AN OFFICE ASSISTANT

The brother in Christ serving as our office assistant will soon retire, making the recruitment of a new assistant an urgent need. The ideal candidate should be a brother in Christ aged between 40 and 60, have a heart for service, be in good physical health, and is able to drive. Responsibilities include handling mailing tasks for the Prayer Times and various correspondence documents, managing local and overseas parcels, book inventory, and general logistic duties. Interested applicants may call SEHC at 67447355 during office hours to arrange an interview. Brothers and sisters who know of suitable candidates are also earnestly requested to provide referrals and recommendations. We pray that the Lord will prepare a mature brethren to take up this role and partner with us in advancing the ministry. Please remember this need in prayer.

EVANGELISM IN CREATIVE ACCESS REGIONS

EHC Country S: Local Christians have no right to practice their faith in this country that recognizes only pagan religions. Wherever these pagans go, they are respected and may openly practice their religion. We pray that the Lord will help Christians in this harsh environment, to live out the influence of their faith within the community and to have opportunities to share the truth of Jesus with more people.

EHC Country K: The power of the written word can reach far and wide. In a remote village with a strong religious atmosphere, a pre-believer repeatedly requested gospel books from the EHC branch over the past two years and openly stated that he shares them with villagers. The branch cannot be certain how much he understands what he has read and thus prays that the Lord will guide him into the truth. If the Lord opens the way, the team also plans to visit him.

EHC Country M: The EHC team planned a door-to-door outreach to three northern states in March. Please pray for the preparations so that volunteer teams may be mobilized and churches may participate enthusiastically. The team will also hold the first “Personal Evangelism Multiplication” seminar in southern churches. We hope for believers to register enthusiastically and courageously accept the challenge as they learn to share the Gospel with friends and family through their relationships. Pray that the Lord supplies the manpower needed for running training and enable the goals to be accomplished. Pray also that more working believers are willing to take leave to participate.

SEHC UPDATES — PLEASE PRAY FOR AND SUPPORT OUR MINISTRY

From mid-November to December, SEHC gave out a total of 1,606 Christian books and booklets to visitors and churches. These included 1,162 copies of the Christmas story comic “Emmanuel”; evangelistic booklets “The Choice” (180 copies) and “The Best Gift” (63 copies); the English devotional “Our Daily Focus” (43 copies); “Journey of Life Growth” (31 copies); “True Happiness Can Be Yours” (19 copies); “Acts of Courage” (6 copies); and 102 other Chinese and English books.

Even in today’s age of widespread digital information, printed books still hold an irreplaceable place. We pray that the Lord will guide Christians not to become absorbed in online information or games, but to be willing to read quality Christian books, allowing their hearts to receive the inspiration God gives through the written word, so that their spiritual lives may flourish and they may become pleasing to the Lord.

“NEW YEAR NEW HOPE” AND “BLESSING” - BLESSINGS BESTOWED BY GOD

The first tract, written by Teacher Yang Baihe, focuses on how people look for new hope at the start of a new year. In recent years, New Year celebrations have become highly materialistic, marked by excessive eating, drinking, and unrestrained spending, leading to the saying that “the year-end is hard, but we still go on every year”. True new hope is found in becoming a new creation in Jesus Christ. The old has passed away, and all has become new. Trusting in the Lord Jesus brings eternal life, meaning, and direction in life, and fills our hearts with satisfaction and peace. The second tract speaks of the universal search for happiness. True blessing is a gift from God, a supreme joy founded upon reconciliation with Him. Being reconciled to God again is the “blessing” this tract seeks to share with readers. Churches and brethren are warmly invited to use these tracts during the Chinese New Year to share the Gospel with family, friends, and neighbours.

“SIMPLIFIED CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY” AND “50 PARABLES OF JESUS” – EMULATING JESUS

The first book, written by Dr. James Yu, explains the essentials of the Christian faith in clear and accessible language, helping readers know God, glorify God, and delight in Him. Topics include the relationship between God and humanity, guidance for doing God’s will, and the realm of heaven. The latter, written by Elder Samuel Ching, provides detailed exposition of each parable, illuminating their background, meaning, spiritual significance, lessons, and practical application in daily life and service. It is our prayer that readers can better understand Jesus’ parables through these book and more fully grasp and obey His teachings, becoming blessed in the Lord’s eyes. Pray for these two books to help many grow and be built up in their spiritual lives.

“THE BEST BLESSING” AND “LET’S TALK ABOUT TEENAGERS” - LET GOD GUIDE YOUR LIFE

The first booklet, written by Elder Samuel Ching, is a collection of several gospel tracts he published in recent years. It proclaims gospel truth from different perspectives to meet the needs of various readers, affirming that the salvation prepared by the one true God who created all things is a vital need for every person. The latter booklet by Dr. James Yu focuses on living well in one’s youth so as to have a fulfilling and regret-free life in the later years. It calls readers to discern right from wrong, choose friends wisely, turn away from youthful carnal desires, and form correct values through studying and reflecting on God’s Word to do His will and bear fruit for the benefit of others. Pray for the Lord to use these two books to open more hearts to know Christ.

“GOSPEL Q&A” AND “THE WAY OF LIFE”: AN EXPOSITION OF THE GOSPEL OF JOHN - UNRAVELLING THE MYSTERIES OF LIFE

The first book, written by Elder Samuel Ching, aims to better equip believers for evangelism, enabling them by the Holy Spirit to address the questions of truth seekers and leading them to know Jesus Christ. Topics include: Is there really a God? Can God fail? Who is Jesus? And why don’t I believe? The latter book written by Dr. James Yu covers foundational biblical truths such as the Trinity and the incarnation. The Word of Life spoken of in the Gospel and Epistles of John refers to that One Saviour - Christ Jesus. In each chapter, the author explains scripture in simple, easy-to-understand language. Each of these two books will be printed in 20,000 copies across the APAC region. May the Lord use them mightily.

Local OIKOS Tract Outreach Updates

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?” (Matthew 18:12). May all OIKOS volunteers continue to seek and save God’s lost sheep in the new year with His mercy.

1. Philos A/G (Rev Yeo Pin Pin):I quickly walked away in another direction when I saw this dark, tall, and strong Indian man from afar. A little while later, I went up to him and gave him a tract, feeling bad for my discriminatory behaviour. He took the tract and read it carefully. Using the tract’s title, “The Hidden Life”, I began our conversation on the topic of hidden sin in our hearts. Explaining the tract content as best as I could to him, I said: “Humans look at appearances, but God examines our hearts, and we need Jesus to purify our lives.” He admitted that he was a sinner and Jesus died for him, so I guided him to pray in repentance and dedicate his life to the Lord. Before he went off to meet his friends, I obtained his contact details and prayed for him. His name is Ashok. Please pray for his spiritual growth.
2. Sis Alice:While we were evangelizing next door, we met 60+ year-old Mdm. Tam. She was locking her door and about to leave home when we went up to offer our new year greetings and asked if she was willing to hear our gospel message. By God’s grace, she opened her heart and agreed to hear our sharing. In our conversation, she shared her suffering with us and lamented that there was no peace in her household. After she lost her pagan amulet, she injured her hand, and her husband was diagnosed with cancer soon after that. As a result, she could not eat or sleep well and lived in anxiety and fear every day. We asked if we could pray for her and she agreed. We proclaimed the peace, love, healing, and grace of Jesus Christ upon her life and family, and explained the Gospel to her after the prayer. She listened attentively and thanks to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, she accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Saviour. She immediately discovered God’s grace and warmth in her heart after praying and invited us to go out for coffee with her and her husband. She also hopes we can continue to follow up with her and walk with her in her new life in Christ. Pray for the Lord to lead her way. 
3. Bro Allan Kon:Today, we met 67-year-old Mr. Wu and shared the Gospel with him. He expressed that he had heard the Gospel in his younger days and agreed with us that mankind is sinful, and sin is evil. In our conversation, he mentioned the recent Bondi Beach shooting and the subway slashing incident in Taiwan, and understood that good deeds could not save one from sin, which only the sacrifice of Christ’s precious blood on the cross could redeem. He gladly received Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour and said the prayer of dedication with us. Thanks be to God, another saved soul has entered His kingdom.
