FEED 5,000 - EVANGELISM ACROSS AFRICA
- A) EHC Botswana: The team has extended its evangelism ministry to strategic border towns adjoining Zambia and Zimbabwe, hoping that residents there will respond to the Gospel. In Nata village, located in the central region, the outreach has been so fruitful that more workers are needed to lead the newly established Christ Groups, especially in outlying villages and rural areas. Pray that the Lord will send mature believers to disciple these new brethren.
- B) EHC Democratic Republic of Congo: The team is committed to launching discipleship ministries nationwide. So far, 26 trainees have completed training at its office, though some face difficulties due to opposition from their families. Pray that the Lord will guide them to press forward without hesitation. Also pray for the 835 new believers who were baptized in July, that they may stand firm in the truth they have received from the Lord and become disciples who diligently spread the Gospel.
- C) EHC Kenya: In August, Kenya experienced fatal tragedies involving road, rail, and air accidents, leaving many families in Kisumu and Naivasha devastated. The team earnestly requests prayers for these families, so that in their pain they may seek God’s comfort and healing, and also for them to receive financial support. May the nation’s transport system be improved with better safety measures, so that the co-workers can travel in peace as they move about sharing the Gospel.
CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN SINGAPORE (CCIS) FUNDRAISING AND PROGRAMME PLANNING
The fundraising dinner held on 09 September at Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine concluded successfully with 23 tables filled by supporters. Guests joined the performers in uplifting hymns of praise during the event. The dinner raised over S$70,000 - praise the Lord! Yet this is only a small portion of the S$350,000 budget, leaving a significant shortfall. We pray that Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, will move more churches, Christian business groups, and brothers and sisters to give generously so that the remaining budget can be met. Together, we share the mission of proclaiming the Gospel at this year’s Orchard Road Christmas celebration, leading more people to know that Jesus Christ is the Saviour who came into our world. Please also pray for the subsequent preparations and the financial needs.

MINISTRY SHARING FROM EHC SAMOA
Last month, the director of EHC Samoa, Ps Morgan and his wife, visited our office during their transit stopover to share about their evangelism ministry. The country’s rugged mountains make outreach challenging and co-workers sometimes need to walk an entire day just to reach the destination mission field. In the past, due to a lack of resources, they could only wear slippers to climb the mountains. On one occasion, a pregnant co-worker accompanied her husband and after a difficult climb to the summit, she suddenly went into labour. Her husband had to help her deliver the baby in the grass. After a safe birth, the group including the mother and newborn had to hurry down the mountain again before night falls. Such an ordeal is indeed hard to imagine for those of us living in urbanized countries. In addition to obstacles posed by tribal religions and diverse local languages, tract evangelists were sometimes beaten or stoned by tribal extremists. Yet God’s grace continues to reach the islanders, using their team and other believers to spread the Gospel widely. The team also strives to evangelize the many Chinese living on the island. To assist their efforts, SEHC has supplied them with various tracts and Bibles. We pray that the Lord of the harvest will sustain the co-workers so they can complete their door-to-door outreach in the remaining 48 villages by year’s end as planned, bringing salvation to every place, everyone and every generation on the island.

God’s revelation to Moses in the Pentateuch was originally meant for training the people of Israel, whom God wanted to be trained first, so they can then go to the nations to teach them also, so that all nations would follow His will. The second book, written by Dr Alban Douglas is a textbook for studying biblical truth, which is also suitable for self-study and advanced learning by believers. Since its first edition, it has greatly benefited many Christians. The book contains both pure doctrinal exploration and practical application for Christian life.
