FEEDING 5,000 CAMPAIGN: EVANGELISM IN AFRICA
- A) EHC Burundi: The team along with 40 churches and over 640 volunteers joined hands in carrying out house-to-house outreach. We give thanks to the Lord for their efforts. Currently, the number of refugees pouring in from Congo has exceeded 60,000. They are suffering terribly in camps with a lack of water and food. Hopefully, there can be an improvement in their situation. This branch has also had the opportunity to visit the refugee camps and share the Gospel of hope.
- B) EHC Kenya: The Turkana people of Kenya were attacked by armed bandits, and we ask the Lord to comfort the victims of this disaster. Amid the rampant crime and perilous situation, we give thanks for the safe ministry of our co-workers in the various communities. Pray that the Lord provides the necessary resources to spread the Gospel widely, so the people can be freed from the bondage of sin.
- C) EHC Nigeria: Please pray for the spiritual growth and renewal of new believers in the Llajia administrative district of Nigeria so that they can overcome temptations, doubts, and spiritual warfare. In the western state of Kwara, several missionaries are at risk of being kidnapped. Pray for the Lord to protect His servants and give them peace to freely spread the Gospel and have courage to lead many to Christ.
CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS IN SINGAPORE (CCIS) PLANS AND CHALLENGES
The fundraising screening of the gospel movie "King of Kings" was held at the Lido Cinema on March 29 at 11 am. This film was based on Dickens' work “The Life of Our Saviour” and tells the story of a young boy’s amazing experience of walking with Jesus and witnessing His miracles. Seeing the Lord’s trial made the boy understanding His sacrifice, and the profound journey changed his life. The film is suitable for the whole family to enjoy. Due to lengthy negotiations with the cinema, the fundraising initiative was a bit rushed. Although we had concerns, the event was still held in faith for God’s provision. The next focus will be on organizing a fundraising dinner on 09 September at Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine. Details will be announced later. Pray for the Lord to inspire churches and brethren to generously give their support, so that this year’s needed funds are fully available. Please continue to pray for the ministry.
PARENTS’ DAY TRACTS - LEADING PARENTS TO EXPERIENCE THE LOVE OF THE TRUE GOD
The Bible uses the love of parents in many verses to show God’s unconditional love for His children. For example, "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him" (Psalm 103:13); "You will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees. As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you" (Isaiah 66:12-13). Sadly, many parents who have spent their lives raising their children are unaware of God’s great and selfless love. We pray that during Mother’s Day in May and Father’s Day in June, both individual brethren and churches will use these tracts to share the love of the true God with their parents and community, helping them hear the Gospel and receive the salvation God has prepared for the world through Jesus, and His profound and incomprehensible love.
EHC AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND OFFICE DIRECTOR VISITS SEHC
On February 17, Rev. Greg Bondar, Director of EHC Australia/New Zealand visited SEHC and met with over 20 volunteers engaged in OIKOS outreach. He shared about evangelistic work and referenced Matthew 28:18-20, saying, "Evangelism is not a choice; it is the Lord’s command. We must choose to obey His command and actively preach the Gospel. Although we may suffer and even be imprisoned at times, we still must choose to evangelize." After his sharing, the volunteers asked many questions, which he answered one by one. During the conversation, we also learned that he is not only promoting evangelism in Australia and New Zealand but also actively advancing gospel ministry in Sri Lanka and other regions. After the meeting, everyone enjoyed a buffet lunch together and continued to chat and get to know one another better.
" And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14).
We pray that God will bless and lead the 178 EHC branches across the world, guiding them to support, pray for, and cooperate with each other, and working closely with local believers and churches to ensure the Gospel is spread throughout the world as soon as possible. Amen!
EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP IN CREATIVE ACCESS REGIONS
EHC in Country E: The northeastern region of this country has many villages and small towns still outside the gates of salvation. Various restrictions make it difficult for the team to carry out evangelistic work. Pray for the Lord to prepare friendly and reliable villagers to help the co-workers open up channels for evangelism.
EHC in Country L: This country recently passed laws prohibiting the distribution of any gospel materials, further complicating the team’s evangelistic efforts. God’s word is not bound, and we pray that the Lord will grant the co-workers wisdom and new ways to reach the unsaved and spread the Gospel to them.
EHC in Country F: With the diligent efforts of the co- workers, three new believers were finally baptized into Christ. We pray that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit and grow in the Lord’s grace and knowledge, remaining steadfast in faith amidst trials and challenges.
"THE PURSUIT" AND "TRUTH WITHOUT REASON" - FOSTERING DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BIBLE
The first book, written by Mr. Erny, serves as a guiding light for life as we seek life’s answers, leading readers toward a bright and fulfilling existence. It explores topics such as the origin of life, the final destination of life, and the distance between the two. The second book, authored by Rev. Lau Cheng Kian, is divided into four sections according to the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each chapter begins with a passage of scripture, followed by the author's simple and easy-to-understand explanation to help readers grasp the meaning of the verses more clearly. Pray for the Lord to use these books for His glory.
"A STUDY OF REDEMPTIVE HISTORY" AND "NO EASY ROAD" - A MORE ABUNDANT LIFE
The first book, written by Rev. Liu Daoshun, consists of three sections discussing topics such as the study of redemptive history and why it is necessary to preach about redemption. Each chapter begins with a Bible verse, followed by an analysis of its key points and practical applications for real life. The second book, written by Rev. Dr. Dick Eastman, is the result of extensive research and exploration. It presents essential thoughts on prayer that are necessary for a spiritually abundant life. Prayer is a significant challenge in a Christian's life of devotion and can be considered the voice of a Christian or the throat of the church. Both books are ideal resources for strengthening a Christian's life. May the Lord bless the readers.
"DEW OF LIFE" AND "REMEMBERING THE SOURCE" - FAITH AND LIFE
The first book, written by Dr. Peter Liu, is a compilation of his sermons. It flows like a river of living waters from the throne of grace with vibrant and powerful messages that help to dispel darkness and obstacles in the hearts of believers, offering in-depth exposition and study for those in need. The second book, written by Bros. Dong Dayuan and Pei Ruiming, aims to trace the true spiritual roots of Chinese faith through historical comparison and evolution. Most of its material is drawn from the ancient Chinese texts “Four Books and Five Classics” and the Bible. Through this book, we can see God's providence and blessings upon the Chinese people. These two books are ideal gifts for new believers. Pray for the Lord to use it for His purposes.
"THE WAY TO A HAPPY LIFE" AND "GOSPEL EXPRESS" - THE PATH TO HAPPINESS
The first book, written by Rev Dr. Johnny Lee, is a Bible correspondence course consisting of four lessons systematically explaining the fundamental doctrines of the Bible in simple language, covering topics such as the Bible, the relationship between God and humanity, faith and love, sin, Jesus Christ, and eternal life. The second book is an evangelistic booklet that proclaims God as the sovereign creator of the universe. He is the eternal, self-existent, almighty, and true God. Humankind is burdened by worldly concerns and fail to recognize Him and are blinded by sin. Jesus took on human form in His Incarnation and sacrificed Himself for our sins. These two books are available for purchase at SEHC’s bookroom, and we welcome everyone to place your orders.
Local OIKOS Ministry Updates
As of February this year, OIKOS volunteers have distributed 720,000 gospel tracts, benefiting over 470,000 households. May God bless and use these tracts, so that the knowledge of the glory and salvation of God may fill all of Singapore just as the waters cover the sea.
1) Philos A/G (Rev Yeo): A few weeks ago, I was distributing tracts in Little India when I met an Indian domestic helper. At that time, I could only share a little bit of the Gospel with her. Today, I went there again and was happy to see her again while she was walking her dog. This time, I used the gospel tracts again to share the Gospel with her and explained the love on the cross in detail. I asked her if she was willing to believe in and accept Jesus Christ, and she said yes. After leading her in the sinner's prayer, I told her that she could pray to Jesus anytime, and only to Jesus, because He is the only true God. We were both very happy and arranged to meet at the same place every week. Please pray for her spiritual growth and for my follow-up with her.
Sis. Alice: 80-year-old Mr. Liu relied on a wheelchair and had poor hearing. When we tried to share the Gospel with him, he wasn't interested and kept rejecting us. We then asked about his legs, and he shared that a year ago, he accidentally fell and broke them. We then laid hands on him and prayed for his quick recovery. After the prayer, Mr. Liu miraculously opened his heart and was willing to listen to the Gospel, and even prayed to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. When we asked him again if he was sure he truly wanted to accept Jesus, he answered loudly and clearly, "of course I want to!" Thank God for His wonderful work. Mr. Liu’s face was filled with joy from the Lord and we were happy to hear him say he would join his friend's church. Please pray for God to strengthen his faith.
Sis. See: 86-year-old Mr. Liang is a polytheist. He was paralyzed on one side of his body after a stroke and needed a wheelchair. I believe this was a wonderful divinely planned encounter because when we came to distribute tracts, his maid was just pushing him out of the house on his wheelchair. We shared the Gospel with him but at first, he said that he believed in many gods and that doing good deeds would allow him to go to heaven. After our patient explanation, he prayed and accepted Jesus Christ. We laid hands on him and prayed for him, and he told us he felt very joyful after the prayer because his children were all Christians. We encouraged him to attend a nearby church and tell his children that he has now believed in the Lord. Please pray for his attendance at church and for his spiritual growth.
